The Potting Shed: Bee Themed Gardener's Room

This special little room box was inspired by two things that go so well together--flowers and bees. As I watch spring blooming about, I was inspired to create a gardener's dream potting shed: a bright, sunny area with lots of room for potting plants, storing old pots and tools, with decorative touches such as framed art and vintage furniture.

The box itself is 15" x 12" x 3". It is painted white and has a glass door. The room is decorated with entirely hand made items, all which are fixed in place with urethane glue for a strong, permanent hold.

The framed art is hand drawn by me, modeled after vintage honey bee illustrations from the 1800's and early 1900's. The frames, the shelves, the potting counter, chair rail, garden center crates, and the curio cabinet are all hand made from polymer clay. They are hand painted with attention to detail, with faux patina to look aged. The garden center crates have hand drawn labels with a logo that I created.

The items on the shelf are also hand made by me except some of the moss I used for plants. They are made from polymer clay, upcycled nylon mesh, paper, and fabric.

The soil bag and garden clogs on the floor are also hand made. The bag of soil is hand sewn from recycled canvas.

The door has been sealed on the room box to prevent damage and warping. Great care has been taken to clean the glass and items inside before sealing. I will not be held responsible for any damage that occurs if the door is to be unsealed by consumer.
